JOHN DUNCAN
Former air traffic controller John Duncan has lived in sight of Prestwick Airport for much of his life and has welcomed the efforts of the council to support the facility.
“I worked in air traffic control and have always been interested in the welfare of Prestwick Airport. “It is a bit of a worry. “I believe it directly employs a few hundred people but affects a lot of Prestwick and Ayr for business.
“Otherwise I am very happy with Prestwick. “The only thing I have noticed recently is that a few businesses and shops have closed, which has been quite unusual.
“Compare that to Ayr. It is so disheartening to go into Ayr and I wouldn’t like to see Prestwick go down that route.”
