BBC put spotlight on area’s artwork
A BBC arts programme will showcase work from South Ayrshire, as the documentary series explores how art has shaped Britain’s creative history.
South Ayrshire Council and the Maclaurin Art Gallery feature in the‘Art That Made Us Festival’, which looks at how works of art, literature, design and music have helped shape the country.
South Ayrshire is telling the story of women in art, revealing how female artists and female subjects have both influenced and inspired.
The videos highlighting the works from the South Ayrshire Council collection and the Maclaurin Art Gallery will be uploaded alternately from Tuesday, April 12 to https://www. youtube.com/c/southayrshirecouncil.
The videos will also be available on the council’s social media channels. To see the artworks up close, pop along to Rozelle House and the Maclaurin Art Gallery, where they are currently on display.
