Several Ayr Roads riders entered the double header of Time Trials at the weekend, organised by local cycling club GTR.
Held on a Saturday evening and Sunday morning, the GTR time trials are a good way to find some early season speed.
Over the 10 mile course from the entrance to Eglinton Park, the riders cycle down the A78 for just over five miles to the papermill roundabout and return, finishing just at the exit to Eglinton.
On Saturday night, the conditions were not ideal, with cold and strong wind to cope with.
Top Ayr Roads rider was veteran Alex McAllister with a 23.39.
Beth McRae, who performed well last year, showed some good early season form with a 2nd overall in the ladies category, coming in on a 24.12.
And team-mate Charlotte Robb was close behind with a 24.58.
John Gemmel clocked a 26.20 and Fiona Davidson 27 minutes.
Early on Sunday morning the riders met up again at Eglinton to try and improve their times.
Blessed with vastly improved conditions winner Cameron Richardson rode an astonishing 18.39 for 10 miles (over 32 miles per hour average).
Top Ayr Roads rider was Michael Curran who clocked a very respectable 22.06.
Beth McRae significantly improved her time from the previous day with a 23.28, again 2nd lady overall.
Ross Milvennan came in on 23.43 and Fiona Davidson lopped an impressive 1 min 20 from her Saturday time, clocking 25.39.
