Holiday park’s £150k bonanza

- STUART WILSON

A holiday park is to receive a £150,000 cash bonanza.

The sum will be plunged into the Sundrum Castle site by bosses at Parkdean Resorts.

Six upgraded caravans will replace existing fleet, with park-wide Wi-Fi installed.

The holiday site, which employs almost 100 people in peak season, welcomed 23,000 visitors last year and advance bookings for 2022 are at record levels.

Steve Richards, chief executive of Parkdean Resorts, said: “This investment is great news for Ayrshire.

“By investing in our parks, we’re not only improving the guest experience, we’re also ensuring that holidaymakers keep coming back year after year, spending money in local shops, attractions, pubs and restaurants, and supporting the communities that rely so heavily on tourism.

“2021 was a huge year for staycations, and our teams will continue to go above and beyond to deliver phenomenal service to our guests, making sure that 2022 is even better.”

Parkdean is the leading operator of holiday parks in the UK, welcoming more than 3.5 million holidaymakers each year. They own and operate 66 parks.
