Plea to wear face masks

-

Health chiefs are urging patients and visitors to wear a facemask when visiting healthcare settings.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran are asking residents to help protect themselves and others against Covid-19 when attending hospital, GP appointments, the dentist, opticians or a community pharmacy.

The law on wearing a facemask in indoor places like shops, restaurants and on public transport were lifted last Monday.

Joanne Edwards, director of Acute Services, said:“Even though the guidance around face masks has changed, you will still need to wear a face mask when on our premises, so that we can keep our patients and our staff safe. Those in hospital are at their most vulnerable and it is vital that we keep them as safe as possible.”

Facemasks can be picked up upon entry and hand gel is located throughout healthcare settings.
