The 87th annual show of the Ayrshire Agricultural Association opened at Ayr today in bright weather.
Today, the judging was confined to dogs and poultry, while tomorrow, more agricultural classes such as horses, cattle and sheep will be adjudicated upon.
Entries in all sections total 2508, compared to 2056 last year.
It has been noted by the organisers that there is a substantial increase this year in horses, dogs and poultry.
