OAP, 74, attacked in broad daylight
Police have stepped up their hunt after a 74-year-old woman was grabbed and then pushed to the ground in a traumatic attack in Ayr.
A hooded-up thug assaulted the OAP in the town’s Elba Street, last Wednesday about 10.30am. The plucky pensioner suffered minor injuries after trying to break free from the culprit’s grip.
Sergeant Christopher Cochran, of Ayr Police Office, said:“This was a very traumatic experience for the victim who fortunately only suffered minor injuries due to her own feisty intervention. It is vital we trace the person responsible”

A manhunt has been launched for a hooded-up thug after the assault in the town’s Elba Street, last Wednesday about 10.30am.
The woman suffered minor injuries after trying to break free from the culprit’s grip.
She was then shoved to the ground before the man ran off.
Police are now on the hunt to trace the man described as young, of slim build and was wearing dark clothing with the hood up.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone in the area at the time and have asked motorists who may have passed the scene to check dashcam footage.
Sergeant Christopher Cochrane has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
