Bidto attract foreign tourists

-

Ayrshire tourism businesses engaged with a three-day virtual travel trade event earlier this month to drive bookings from visitors overseas.

Discover Scotland: Reconnect 2022 is part of VisitScotland’s activity to rebuild international tourism.

Ayrshire & Arran Destination Alliance, Trump Turnberry, Davidson Travel Group Ltd, Glenapp Castle, and Marine Troon were among those taking part, chatting with international tour operators and travel agents to boost tourism in the area.

National Trust for Scotland, who manage Culzean Castle & Country Park, Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Bachelors’ Club in Tarbolton and Souter Johnnie’s Cottage, Kirkoswald- also attended.

Jill Chalmers, MD of Glenapp Castle said: “It was really encouraging to see the increased level of interest in Scotland again, which is perceived as a safe and exciting destination for the pent-up demand on travel post pandemic.”
