30jobs cooke dup at Craig Tara

- STUART WILSON

An Asian fast food giant is to create 30 new jobs at Ayr’s Craig Tara holiday park.

CHOPSTIX will bring its brand of freshly cooked noodles, tasty toppings, and sizzling sides to guests this month.

The agreement, which marks the first foray into holiday parks for CHOPSTIX, will see the first site open within a fortnight.

The food firm then has plans to roll out to a number of other parks in the near future.

The new CHOPSTIX at Craig Tara has generated a further 30 new roles at the park. Established in Camden Market in 2002 by entrepreneurs Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik, CHOPSTIX celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

It operates 80 locations across the UK and Ireland, with 25 franchise sites run through partnerships with the likes of Welcome Break and Applegreen.

Cain Savazzi, food and beverage director for Haven, said: “We are constantly looking at ways to improve our guest food and beverage experience and introduce new dining experiences, and we’ve been looking for a panAsian option for some time. CHOPSTIX are the perfect partner for us, and we’re looking forward to opening at Craig Tara very soon.”

The site at Craig Tara will sell all of CHOPSTIX’s favourite dishes. Customers select their base, picking from golden noodles, skinny rice or egg-fried rice, before choosing from a wide range of Pan-Asian favourites for their toppings, including Teriyaki Beef, Sweet Chilli Prawns, and Caramel Drizzle Chicken, as well as sides ranging from Spring Rolls, to Chicken Balls, Prawn Crackers, and Salt ‘n’ Pepper Potatoes.

Jon Lake, managing director at Chopstix, added: “Like Haven, CHOPSTIX is loved by people of all ages and backgrounds, and we’re looking forward to welcoming kids, parents and grandparents to dine with us at Craig Tara. We’re excited about this partnership and the prospect of growing our footprint across other Haven parks in the future.”
