BANGOR COMMUNITY CHURCH: Meet every Sunday 10.30am & 6.30pm at Coed Mawr Community Centre, (behind Mcdonalds). ROTARY: The Rotary Club of Bangor met on Thursday, January 8 at the Victoria Hotel, Menai Bridge. President Bob Maskall was delighted to welcome Amee Hughes of Ysgol Friars, Bangor and to present her with a Rotary Young Leaders Award. She had been chosen to take part and successfully completed this test of team-ship initiative and stamina at the outdoor pursuits centre at Arthog, near Dolgellau in August. Aimee gave the Club a presentation of the activities she had been involved in with young people sponsored by Rotary Clubs from across the district of North Wales and Merseyside. She had enjoyed and learnt a lot from the experience particularly in communication and participation skills and confidence, team-work and leadership. This scheme is an annual project of Bangor Rotary funding participants from Bangor and District. NORTH WALES SOCIETY FOR THE BLIND: Is a local charity based in Bangor. Its aims are to provide welfare and key services for visually impaired people in North Wales. It is looking for volunteers to spare an hour or two to assist in fundraising ,store collection, driving and group support. Contact Malcolm Jones on 01248 353604 ST ANDREW’S CHURCH SERVICES: On the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sunday Holy Communion at 11am. On the 4th Sunday of the month there is a shorter Family Service followed by light refreshments. Fridays at 10am Holy Communion followed by tea and coffee. LADIES GROUP: The next meeting is on Monday January 19 with a New Year Party. A selection of cakes will be supplied by the Committee and Jan will come along to play the piano.
