Short changed

-

IN your lead article in last week’s Mail you mention Anglesey council leader Ieuan Williams’ warning about the impact of funding cuts being imposed which are affecting services across the board and forcing the council to prioritise.

These cuts are being imposed by the Welsh Labour Government in Cardiff. Last month in Westminster Labour MPs voted with the Tories to continue introducing similar massive cuts to our public services over the next 5 years.

Successive Labour and Tory Governments in London have allowed Wales to be short changed by millions of pounds every year. Wales is losing £1.2billion a year compared to Scotland.

The people of Scotland have got the message. They have realised Westminster is not working for them and have decided in droves to vote for the Scottish National Party in the General Election on 7th May so that their voice is heard.

With the likelihood of a hung parliament Plaid Cymru/The Party of Wales along with the SNP and the Greens can present an alternative to austerity and argue for investing in the NHS, schools, care homes, other public services and our transport infrastructure.

By voting for Plaid Cymru on May 7 you can start helping to reverse these cutbacks and ensure that Wales is no longer treated as a forgotten nation and Anglesey treated as a forgotten island by the London parties.
