THE END FOR BEACH WARDENS ON MôN

Bangor Mail - - NEWS -

SEPTEMBER 9 saw the end of the duties of the Anglesey Beach Wardens.

A debriefing was held the following day to discuss any points raised concerning their few months patrolling the beaches of Benllech, Llanddona, Trearddur Bay and Traeth Bychan and to invite suggestions to improve facilities for the thousands of visitors that come here to enjoy our blue flag beaches.

The Wardens have provided local weather and tidal conditions whilst ensuring that all dogs are exercised in the appropriate areas of the beach.

This year has seen them give advice to several bathers due to a significant rise in the number of people affected by jellyfish stings and minor scrapes and bruises.

2015 has not been the best of summers but Debbie, Tina, Paul, Sian, and some others have patrolled the sands in all weathers giving advice and warnings to owners of inflatables during off-shore winds.

I thank them all and wish them all good luck in whatever the future holds for them.

Not forgetting Mr Will Smith who conscientiously keeps our paths and roads litter-free. Eric Brook
