Anglesey Woodland Festival
THE importance of our native trees and woodlands will be highlighted during a festival held this Saturday and Sunday.
The event is being oranised by the Ynys Môn Outdoor Learning Wales Network Group in conjunction with the National Trust.
Anglesey’s 10th annual woodland festival will be held in Dairy Wood and in the grounds of the National Trust’s Plas Newydd in Llanfairpwll between 11am and 4pm on both days. Entrance is free. Those visiting will see birds of prey demonstrations, green wood-working, blacksmithing and chainsaw carving all in an informal woodland setting.
There will be an opportunity to learn and appreciate more about the environment, in particular the importance of our woodland, through many varied woodland adventure activities. There will be opportunities to take part in creative and fun workshops, learn about green and traditional crafts and skills as well as learn about wild food, permaculture, beekeeping, apples and much more.
Organised by the Outdoor Learning Wales Group the festival is part funded by Natural Resources Wales and by the Isle of Anglesey County Council through the Anglesey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty team.
The Outdoor Learning Wales group are hoping for donations from visitors to the festival to cover the remainder of the costs.
