Yvonne Pitts sadly passed away 10 years ago after a brave battle with Cancer, aged just 47. Her husband Malcolm wanted to thank the people who treated and cared for his beloved wife, so set out to raise as much money as possible to support these worthy causes. Over the past 10 years, Malcolm’s challenges have included eight 1.5 mile swims at Plas Menai and a cycle ride from Plas Menai to Llandudno and back, taking in the Great Orme, a round trip of 60 miles. Darren Brame of Plas Menai, joined Malcolm on his bike rides, and Malcolm is so grateful for his commitment and guidance. Malcolm has managed to raise a fantastic £1,900 for these brilliant causes and recently presented a cheque to Alaw Ward, Bangor (pictured above) for £1,400 and £500 to Eryri Hospital in Caernarfon. Malcolm commented, “On behalf of family and friends and some of the community, I want to thank you for your kind donations. We will always be in the debt of the dedicated nurses who do such a fantastic job in their care for us, and all those who have helped us. We are hoping to do the work again next year for the same two brilliant causes.”
