Community spirit keeps me crafting
IN our last Craft Creations of 2016, we speak to Rebecca Paul from Anglesey. Rebecca is the artist behind Jessie Joy’s, enjoys making beautifully unique home accessories and personalised gifts, handmade, hand finished and upcycled.
As well as the beautiful items she creates, Rebecca is also a full-time mum to daughter Jessie, (also known as her Jessie Joy!) Rebecca tells us more: “Encouraged by friends and family to pursue a lifelong passion for all things creative, Jessie Joy’s was born in May 2015. Self-taught and with the creative gift of dyslexia in hand, there’s been no looking back!
“An innate love of crafting, interior design, up-cycling and renovation; combined with a passion for nature and the great outdoors influence and inspire my makes!
“I love to make, especially if in making, I can spread a little joy!”
Rebecca went on to say “I have been overwhelmed this festive season, by the amount of support, praise and encouragement given to Jessie Joy’s and other talented local artists alike.
“From the hordes of joyful members of public keen to buy locally this year, to the endeavours of Social media sites, namely: Anglesey Social Media, We Are Anglesey and Anglesey TV for going that extra mile in spreading the joy for us small businesses.
“Also, Communities First for providing fantastic opportunities to all and the ever dutiful staff at venues and shops around Anglesey and North Wales; including Plas Newydd, Oriel Ynys Môn and Eden Emporium for orchestrating such wonderful Christmas Fairs and displays this year.
“Heartfelt thanks and a happy dance to each and every one of you! The sense of Community spirit and togetherness this year has been implausible….Joyful even!
