Open day for charity at farm
TYDDYN Môn, a charity which supports adults with learning disabilities on Anglesey will soon be holding an open day at their farm near Amlwch.
The open day, which will take place on Friday March 31, will be the culmination of a grant awarded to Tyddyn Môn by the Welsh Government as part of the Intermediate Care Fund.
The grant has enabled the charity to host a number of activities that have been developed to improve and maintain the independence and well-being of adults using their services. Activities that have been held in and around the farm cafe have included confidence through music, fitness, samba drumming, Actif woods, mosaic making, zumba, orienteering and crafts, all of which will be showcased during the open day, giving visitors the opportunity to join in and sign up for future activities that will held on the farm.
Service users from the charity’s supported houses in Menai Bridge and Holyhead will also take part in the day as they compete against a team from the farm in the ‘The Great Tyddyn Môn Cook Off Competition’ which will be judged by local dignitaries including Rhun ap Iorwerth AP.
The open day will also see the opening of the charity’s new holiday home, which will be open for tours.
