No1 Ladies keyed up to put on a truly spectacular show

-

THE No1 Ladies Accordion Orchestra are coming to North Wales!

This month will see the orchestra perform at two venues, at Capel Penrallt, Ffordd Caergybi/Holyhead Road, Bangor, on Saturday, May 20, at 7.30pm, and then, on Sunday, May 21, at St. Mary’s Church Hall, Rosehill Street, Conwy, at 2pm.

The No1 Ladies Accordion Orchestra was founded by accordion queen Karen Tweed in 2010 and, since 2013, has been led by accordion meistress Jane Ward and is going from strength to strength.

There are 12 members of the orchestra, 11 piano accordions and one basso, who meet up to bring their unique style and enthusiasm to as many people as possible.

The performance contains an eclectic mix of music, from film music, traditional folk, Eastern European through to classical, marches and jazz/blues.

The music is interspersed with information about the accordion and there is plenty of opportunity for the audience to engage with the ladies – asking questions about the music, the accordion or the orchestra – and maybe even trying out an accordion themselves! And, of course, there is also the opportunity to indulge in the delicious home-made cakes and tea during the interval!

Visit no1ladiesaccordionorchestra. co.uk for more. Tickets, £8 each, concessions £7, are available by emailing no1ladiesaccordion orchestra@gmail.com or pay on the door.
