Jumping for joy at official opening

FORMER Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle MBE officially opened Bangor Gymnastics Club’s new facility on Saturday at Llandygai Industrial Estate.

The club, which was formed in 1981 with only 20 gymnasts, now has more than 800 members and is the largest club, with the largest foam pit, in North Wales.

The club offers gymnastics training from mother and baby sessions up to specific adult classes, along with the girls and boys gymnastic sessions, disability gymnastics and free-running.

The club has had a great few weeks as it was also awarded a Gold Insport award by Disability Sports Wales.

The official opening was a great success as the gymnasts enjoyed meeting Beth, with her Olympic Medal, as she watched the gymnasts take part in displays to celebrate the event.
