Beaumaris enjoy big victory over visitors
BEAUMARIS A featured three single-figure solo successes as part of a sparkling 9-3 home show against Penmaenmawr A in the North Wales Coast League’s top flight.
There were 21-7 returns by Allen Parry and Andrew Stanley and 21-8 from Hefin Jones.
Bangor City came to rue the handicap of being a team member short when they travelled to basement outfit St Asaph A, because that 0-21 giveaway cost them in a 7-5 defeat.
The games were split equally at 5-5 only for the aggregates to work out against City by 163-151 points, a difference of just 12, which might well have been otherwise.
Bangor’s best cards came from John Short with 21-4 and David P Williams 21-6.
Llanfairpwll maintained their Division B push for promotion, as secondplaced to Llandudno A, by slamming Dyserth 9-3, Glyn Roberts on 21-10.

Beaumaris were winners and losers on successive evenings in the Welsh Counties’ Bowls League.
Hosting Cunliffe in a rearranged fixture after a weather postponement, the Castle side ran up a favourable 7-3 result, John Short on 21-5 and Hefin Jones at 21-9.
But, 24 hours later, when appearing at Min-y-Don, Adam Harris’s side fell apart in an 8-2 defeat.
Llanfairpwll, meanwhile, revelled in a 10-0 spree against basement strugglers St Asaph and had their best cards from Gary Buckland on 21-6 and Dion Owen 21-9.
Five matches in the Monday Anglesey/Bangor and District Bowls League produced 8-2 scorelines – and an extra rearranged encounter ended the same way.
Title pacemakers Beaumaris A were away-day successes over Llanfairpwll, Kevin Fallowes 21-8, while secondplaced Llangefni were home winners against Bangor City, Geraint Williams their best on 21-1.
Holyhead enjoyed a fruitful outing to Benllech, John Prosser 21-11, and Caernarfon routed Academi Llanfair, youngster Finlay Prytherch 21-7.
Criccieth completed the set of 8-2 results at Menai Bridge and home to Llanfairpwll. Beaumaris (Robin Davies 21-4) broke the trend with a 9-1 win over Benllech.
Benllech are new leaders of the Anglesey/Bangor and District League’s Wednesday Division, using a 9-1 romp against bottom outfit Caernarfon to elbow past Beaumaris A by a point, Alwyn Parry on 21-7.
Beaumaris A were not far behind gaining an 8-2 victory over Bethesda, Derek Stanley 21-5.
Beaumaris B beat visitors Holyhead 8-2, notably Robin Davies and Kevin Fallowes both on 21-6.
