Circuit offers a mixture of thrills
THE British Racing and Sports Car Club makes another visit to Anglesey Circuit this Saturday and Sunday, with two endurance races dominating the timetable.
An additional attraction, for what could possibly be the first time in a BRSCC race weekend, means that track time will be shared with motorsport of the two-wheeled variety, as part of the circuit’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
The FunCup Championship is really beginning to intensify and the weekend will see two three-hour endurance races take place, the first running late afternoon on Saturday, followed by the second encounter running into the darkness.
This weekend is also a crucial one in Formula Ford circles.
After a long and intense season of racing, the Britcover National Formula Ford 1600 Championship with Avon Tyres reaches its highly anticipated climax.
With seven different race winners and pure wheel-to-wheel action all the way through, someone is leaving Anglesey with the coveted entry ticket to the Mazda Road To Indy USF2000 $200,000 Scholarship Shootout in December in the US.
But that’s not all – there’s more Formula Ford action provided by the equally competitive Avon Tyres Northern Championship.
Finally, something a little different for a BRSCC meeting – bikes!
As part of the 25th anniversary of Anglesey Circuit, the Wirral 100 Club bring their Formula 600 series to mark the occasion with two races on Sunday. Twenty-five years ago, Wirral 100 ran the first ever race meeting on the circuit back in 1992.
