JUDGE HALTS MURDER TRIAL
Proceedings stopped for legal reasons and new date will be set:
THE trial of a man accused of murdering his wife was halted on Monday and the jury discharged.
Paul Martin Jordan denies murdering Elizabeth Jordan (below), 53, at her home in Maesgeirchen, Bangor, on July 31 last year.
The 54-year-old, of Ffordd Siabod, Y Felinheli, had admitted an alternative charge of manslaughter on the basis of diminished responsibility.
The trial began at Caernarfon Crown Court on Monday last week, but Judge Rhys Rowlands stopped proceedings on Monday for legal reasons.
A new trial date, which is expected to be confirmed next week, will be set with a fresh jury.
