THE trial of a man ac­cused of mur­der­ing his wife was halted on Mon­day and the jury dis­charged.

Paul Martin Jor­dan de­nies mur­der­ing El­iz­a­beth Jor­dan (be­low), 53, at her home in Maes­geirchen, Ban­gor, on July 31 last year.

The 54-year-old, of Ffordd Si­a­bod, Y Felin­heli, had ad­mit­ted an al­ter­na­tive charge of man­slaugh­ter on the ba­sis of di­min­ished re­spon­si­bil­ity.

The trial be­gan at Caernar­fon Crown Court on Mon­day last week, but Judge Rhys Row­lands stopped pro­ceed­ings on Mon­day for le­gal rea­sons.

A new trial date, which is ex­pected to be con­firmed next week, will be set with a fresh jury.
