DAVID HUGHES COM­MU­NITY CEN­TRE: The AGM of the David Hughes Cen­tre will be held at the Cen­tre at 7 pm on Tues­day, May 15. It is hoped that user groups will send rep­re­sen­ta­tives and that any­one who wishes to see the Cen­tre con­tinue to op­er­ate as a com­mu­nity cen­tre will make an ef­fort to at­tend. The cen­tre is run by a small com­mit­tee of vol­un­teers who meet ev­ery two months and are look­ing for peo­ple to join the com­mit­tee. Re­cently, the cen­tre has lost the ser­vices of the care­taker, but has been able to em­ploy a cleaner, who comes in once or twice a week, and some­one to cut the grass and keep the site tidy. It is still look­ing for some­one who lives lo­cally who could be a key­holder and, oc­ca­sion­ally, set out rooms for groups and art ex­hi­bi­tions.
