Arriva hatch a plan for Car Boot Trophy
CAERGYBI and Arriva will meet in the Anglesey Football League’s Bwlch Car Boot Trophy Final.
In Saturday’s semis, Caergybi defeated Valley 7-4 in extra time, Gary Jo Owen with five goals and Dewi Thomas two for the Holyhead side, Mike Williams (3) and Paul Williams keeping Barry Rowlands’ side in the contest.
Arriva were impressive 5-4 winners at Bryngwran Bulls, Josh Royds (2), Mathew Williams, Daniel Ogwen Jones and Kieron Davies for the Busmen, Nathan Lewis (2), Tony Meyers and John Earnshaw for the Bulls.
In the league, Pentraeth Reserves and Bodorgan shared a 3-3 split.
Geraint Jones, Marc Jones and John Morton were Pentraeth’s net-finders, Luke Allaway, Aaron Jones and Gerwyn Williams earning Bodorgan a point.
James Ryan was a nine-goal hero as Bryngwran Bulls piled up a massive 17-1 victory at Llandegfan last Wednesday.
Nathan Roberts (2), Matty Roberts (2), Andrew Bailey (2), Arwyn Williams and Callum Lawton grabbed the rest for the visitors.
The night before, Caergybi took the spoils 2-0 at Pentraeth Reserves, top-scorer Gary Jo Owen and Jack Roberts on the mark.
Mynydd Tigers edged a 2-1 verdict at Llangoed and District Reserves, Arwyn Roberts netting for the home side.

Mynydd Tigers were due to host Arriva last night (Tuesday), while Caergybi were set to entertain Bodorgan on Monday.
