Treat­ment cen­tre toasts mile­stone

A cel­e­bra­tion event was held to mark the one year-an­niver­sary of a suc­cess­ful treat­ment ser­vice at Ys­byty Pen­rhos Stan­ley. The Treat­ment Room Unit (TRU) is a pri­mary care ini­tia­tive that works in con­junc­tion with GP surg­eries to of­fer pa­tients a larger range of fa­cil­i­ties in their lo­cal com­mu­nity ar­eas.

The ser­vice was launched in May 2017 and in the last year has per­formed more than 4,000 treat­ments for pa­tients from the An­gle­sey area. The TRU pro­vides all types of wound care rang­ing from ba­sic dress­ing changes, leg ul­cers, com­pres­sion ban­dag­ing, pack­ing and re­moval of clips and su­tures.

The TRU is open be­tween 9am-5pm Mon­day to Fri­day at Ys­byty Pen­rhos Stan­ley, through appointmen­ts only.

Reg Thorpe, who has praised the ser­vice he re­ceives at the TRU in Ys­byty Pen­rhos Stan­ley, with the staff on the unit cel­e­brat­ing its first an­niver­sary.
