DE­MEN­TIA: The Seiriol De­men­tia Steer­ing Group has been work­ing to­gether since 2017 to raise aware­ness and un­der­stand­ing of how to sup­port those liv­ing with and af­fected by De­men­tia to re­main in­volved and able to par­tic­i­pate in com­mu­nity ac­tiv­i­ties. The group needs more sup­port and is ar­rang­ing an of­fi­cial Launch Event to be held at Y Canol­fan, Beau­maris on Fri­day Septem­ber 21, 10-4pm. There will be an op­por­tu­nity to at­tend a De­men­tia Friend ses­sion (less than hour) to help raise your aware­ness and un­der­stand­ing, and you can meet lo­cal or­gan­i­sa­tions that pro­vide sup­port and ser­vices for car­ers and their loved ones. Tea and cof­fee will be avail­able for free – and mem­bers of the Steer­ing Group will be avail­able if you wish to have a quiet con­ver­sa­tion, or re­ceive fur­ther info. RUN FEST: Hun­dreds of run­ners are ex­pected to de­scend onto Beau­maris on Sun­day, Septem­ber 9 as the in­au­gu­ral Beau­maris Run­ning Fes­ti­val is set to take place. Us­ing one of the most stun­ning course lo­ca­tions in the UK, the fes­ti­val in­cludes a fun run, 10k and a chal­leng­ing half marathon course.
