Ryan hat-trick halts the Bulls stampede
JAMES RYAN plundered a hat-trick against his old club as Caergybi became the first team to beat Anglesey League leaders Bryngwran Bulls this season in a thrilling 6-4 victory at Millbank.
Bryngwran went 2-0 up inside the first 15 minutes, Ryan replying for Caergybi on the half-hour.
Bulls were awarded a penalty two minutes later but it was saved by home keeper Kieran Weeks, who also deflected the follow-up shot over the bar.
Justin Williams made it 2-2 on 39 minutes, then a free kick some 70 yards out, struck from his own half by Liam Williams, found the back of the net to put Caergybi in the lead.
Bryngwran were awarded another penalty just on half time, but, again, Weeks pulled off a cracking save.
Ryan scored at the start of the second half to give Caergybi a healthy 4-2 lead, but much more action and goals were to follow.
Bryngwran cut the deficit on 55 minutes and the score remained unchanged until Caergybi’s Dave Webb made it 5-3 on 82.
Caergybi were then awarded a penalty on 87 minutes, which Ryan converted for his hat-trick.
Bryngwran managed to get one goal back in injury time to leave the final score at 6-4 to the hosts in this local derby, played with passion from both sides.
