Man charged after incident on bridge
A MAN has been charged with a number of offences in connection with an incident which saw the closure of the Menai Bridge.
The 31-year-old was set to appear before magistrates this week after being arrested by officers following an incident on the bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The bridge had to be closed for more than an hour due to the incident.
Chief superintendent Neil Harrison, of North Wales Police, said: “Following an incident on Menai Bridge which resulted in closure of the Bridge, a 31-year-old male has been charged with a number of offences, including being a public nuisance and will appear in court.”
Police were forced to close the important route on Saturday afternoon due to the incident. Traffic was diverted to the Britannia Bridge as a result of the incident, leading to long delays for motorists.
The RNLI were also required to attend the incident.
