BGT star Gruffydd plans solo tour for 2019

ANGLESEY SINGER CAME FOURTH IN TV TALENT SHOW

BRITAIN’S Got Talent star Gruffydd Wyn has announced some “big news”.

The 22-year-old singing sensation from Amlwch revealed he will be going on tour in 2019.

Gruff, who went straight through to the semi-final of BGT after judge Amanda Holden hit her golden buzzer, came fourth in the tense final of the world’s biggest talent show in June.

Now, three months after his success on the show, he is visiting a number of Welsh theatres on his debut solo tour.

While he is yet to announce when and where the tour will be happening, he told sister paper the Daily Post that fans can expect some special guests at some of the shows.

Gruff, who has been nominated for a National Reality TV Award following his incredible stint on the show, revealed how it all came about.

“Rhydian, who was on the X Factor a few years ago, randomly contacted me about a month ago. He said he he’d seen my audition and that he had loved it and he wanted to help me out.

“He put me in contact with the right peo- ple, and now I’m organising a tour for next year. “It was totally unexpected. “I can’t tell you much at the moment, it’s still very early days but I am expecting to announce all dates and venues in the coming weeks.

“And I can tell you there will be some people performing with me.

“It will be a tour just around Wales for now - I’m going for a small Welsh tour to start off with.

“I like a lot of different venues around Wales for different reasons, but I would like to perform at the Principality Stadium - it’s one of those places everybody wants to perform at and of course, it’s the biggest stadium in the country.

“I’m really looking forward to it, there are some really exciting times ahead for me.”

The Amlwch singer made the announcement yesterday on his Facebook page.

He wrote: “BIG NEWS... Very excited to announce that I’ll be going on tour in 2019! All dates and venues will be announced in the coming weeks!”

Within hours, more than 400 fans had liked his post - with fans from across the other side of the world asking him to perform in Australia and Canada.

He added: “When I went for my audition, I never expected I would be here today, although it was always something I wanted.

“I am getting used to it a lot more now and I’m enjoying every moment. It’s my job now I suppose, so I’m just enjoying myself.

“It’s been a fantastic year for me this year - I’ve got a lot of performances coming up now until the end of the year, so I’m looking forward to spending some time with my family at Christmas.”
