In the absence of Ros John was in the chair. He welcomed a smallish group after the holidays and told members that the subscription, now due, remains at £10 .A minute’s silence was held in memory of Pat Cohen, who had served for many years as chairman of the club and of Ken Bowler, who also had devoted himself to the local community. It was agreed that the raffle money for this month be devoted to Friends of the Earth, Pat’s charity of choice. This was rounded up from the club funds as the small number made the raffle income low.Sylvia Targett of Age Cymru then gave a talk about her work with the advocacy service. On 10 October the speaker will be Dr David Owens on Extreme Weather
