In the ab­sence of Ros John was in the chair. He wel­comed a small­ish group af­ter the hol­i­days and told mem­bers that the sub­scrip­tion, now due, re­mains at £10 .A minute’s si­lence was held in mem­ory of Pat Co­hen, who had served for many years as chair­man of the club and of Ken Bowler, who also had de­voted him­self to the lo­cal com­mu­nity. It was agreed that the raf­fle money for this month be de­voted to Friends of the Earth, Pat’s char­ity of choice. This was rounded up from the club funds as the small num­ber made the raf­fle in­come low.Sylvia Tar­gett of Age Cymru then gave a talk about her work with the ad­vo­cacy ser­vice. On 10 Oc­to­ber the speaker will be Dr David Owens on Ex­treme Weather
