Burgess goal secures a creditable draw for Bodedern

BODEDERN Athletic picked up a commendabl­e 1-1 draw at Greenfield in their latest Welsh Alliance League Division One outing.

Daniel Sim put the Flintshire side ahead on 35 minutes, James Burgess levelling for the islanders after 58.

The result leaves Boded a more than respectabl­e fifth in the table.

Jamie Whitmore’s treble ensured Mynydd Llandegai pipped Llandyrnog United 4-3, Andy Barker adding a home single, Dion Jones, Joel Rowlands and Scott Leonard for the visitors, who led 2-0.

In Division Two’s game of the day, Blaenau Amateurs beat Llannerchy­medd 2-1 thanks to a late Kieron Ellis winner.

Tom Hughes earlier put the Quarrymen ahead before Rob Jones equalised.

Blaenau remain top of the standings with Medd now dropping down to third, but still well-placed among the leading pack.

Jordan Phillips scored six times in Glan Conwy’s 10-2 annihilati­on of Amlwch Town, Jamie Jones (2), Shaheen Ahmed and Ben Wright with the rest, Martin Byast and Sion Griffiths for the islanders. Amlwch are bottom and yet to pick up a point in four attempts.

Ryan Wood’s double led Pentraeth to a 2-1 victory against Aberffraw, Nathan Moore replying. Y Felinheli versus Holyhead Town was abandoned after visiting player Mike Edwards suffered a bad injury.
