This in­cluded a pre­sen­ta­tion on the ben­e­fits of singing for peo­ple with var­i­ous dis­abil­i­ties. Mem­bers of the Holy­head Group were also pre­sent. 2018 will be rounded off with our Christ­mas Din­ner at Caernar­fon Golf Club on Novem­ber 30. AN­GLE­SEY SOROPTIMISTS: The Oct 22 meet­ing took place at Nant yr Odyn, when bra bins, that were col­lected from var­i­ous out­lets on the Is­land were sorted and bagged by mem­bers. The quilt made of squares and fin­ished by Bar­bara Dixon has been for­warded to ‘Global Blan­kets’, part of a cam­paign by ‘Stop the Traf­fick’ against slave labour in the cloth­ing trade. At the Breast Can­cer week’s day event at Pringles in Llan­fairPG, leaflets were handed out and £100 was raised. Shops in Llan­fairPG par­tic­i­pated in dress­ing their win­dows and the win­ner was S & D Hair­dressers, with run­ners up, Mr Trim the bar­ber shop, and the Bride shop. Next meet­ing will be on Thurs, Nov 8at 7.15pm when Wil­low Hol­loway, founder of The Autis­tic Wom­ens Em­pow­er­ment Pro­ject will talk about autism in girls and women.
