Gadd shoots in six as Amlwch fire home 20

AMLWCH Town Ladies made it a Sunday to remember as they romped to a 20-0 victory against a depleted Penrhyn Bay in Division Two of the North Wales Women’s Football League.

Wearing shirts displaying the poppy emblem to honour The Fallen and show respect to all military personnel past and present, the Anglesey side were in total control from the start.

Cerys Gadd led the way with six goals, while top-scorer Lexi Crawley netted four to boost her total for the season to 12.

Charley Smith (2), Charlotte Webb, Sara Furlong, Shannon Thomas, Chloe Taylor, Sophie Baker, Paige Williams, Ashleigh Jones, and Ffion Owen combined to produce the rest.

Division Two leaders Bethesda Athletic made it five straight wins as they romped to a 12-1 success at fellow newcomers Mountain Rangers.

Hannah McGoona and Katie Midwinter claimed four goals apiece, Ceri Lois adding a hat-trick and Awel Fflur Ellis also on the mark.

Captain Midwinter leads her team’s goalscorin­g chart with 12 after Sunday’s quadruple, while it was a first treble in Pesda colours for young striker Ceri Lois, who was Bangor City’s top markswoman last year. Bethesda are now four points clear at the Division Two summit.
