Store re­opens af­ter £1m facelift

THE Co-op food store in Lon Goch, Aml­wch, has re-launched fol­low­ing the con­clu­sion of a £1m in­vest­ment pro­gramme.

The 9,000 sq ft store has un­der­gone a 12-week pro­gramme of works, and in­cludes a Costa cof­fee dis­penser, and en­hanced in-store bak­ery, along with a fo­cus on fresh, healthy foods, chilled pro­duce, food-to-go, meal ideas, award-win­ning wines, Welsh pro­duce, house­hold goods and, essen­tials.

The store also brings a fund­ing boost for lo­cal causes through the Co-op’s Mem­ber­ship scheme – Mem­bers re­ceive 5% re­ward when they swipe their mem­ber­ship card when buy­ing own-brand prod­ucts, with the Co-op do­nat­ing a fur­ther 1% to lo­cal causes, in­clud­ing the Aml­wch Me­mo­rial Hall.

The store also do­nated £250 to the Caru Aml­wch Group’s fire­work dis­play as part of the launch day cel­e­bra­tion.
