Markswoman Midwinter stays hot for Bethesda in another triumph

-

NORTH Wales Women’s League Division Two tabletoppers Bethesda Athletic made it seven wins on the bounce with a 4-2 home beating of Rhyl Development last Sunday.

Katie Midwinter (2), Ceri Lois and Shannon Jade Jones shared the goals for Pesda, who recorded a third win over their opponents this term.

Charlie Skeffington and Catrin Davies hit back for the visitors.

Bethesda dominated the first half and were four up by the break.

Midwinter struck first with a lovely curling effort after creating herself some space in the box.

Ceri Lois made it two when she latched onto a through- ball and finished neatly before Midwinter struck again with her 17th goal of the season.

Shannon Jade Jones’s deflected strike from longrange completed the first half scoring – and it could have been more but for some fine saves from Rhyl keeper Lauren Jones.

The visitors improved as an attacking force after the break, but could only find the net twice.

Pesda are due to visit Corwen in the NEWFA Cup this Sunday.

Amlwch Town were involved in an exciting 2-2 draw at Corwen.

Katie Armstrong via the penalty spot and Elisa Williams made the scoresheet for the hosts, a Michelle O’Hagan double ensuring the Anglesey side took a point.
