Tigers’ joy in Shield

DEAN REDMOND netted twice as Menai Bridge Tigers made it two wins in seven days over Glantraeth with a 3-2 Gwynedd League Bob Owen Memorial Shield victory. Wisdom Janes was also on target for the home side, Sean Davies and Andy Clarke running the visitors close.

In the same competition, Talysarn Celts pipped Waunfawr 2-1, David Jones and Jac Jones for the winners, Aled Pritchard replying.

Gwynedd League action saw title hopefuls Gwalchmai triumph 5-1 at Bontnewydd.

Mark Griffith delivered a double for the islanders, Gwion Thomas, Paul Rowlands and John Jones adding singles. Ian Pleming hit a consolation goal.

Llangoed romped to a 4-0 win at Bro Goronwy, Carwyn Williams (2), Wayne Thomas and Llion Roberts on the mark.

Mynydd Tigers fell 3-1 at Llanystumdwy, Kyle Hartleb netting for the losing team. Kyle Williams and Brad Williams (2) sealed the home success.
