Cater­ers wanted for is­land gallery’s cafe

CATER­ERS are be­ing in­vited to bid for Oriel Môn’s busy café and cater­ing ser­vices from next April.

With nearly 100,000 vis­i­tors last year alone, the café is a pop­u­lar part of the of­fer at the gallery and mu­seum com­plex in Llangefni.

The café has over 50 cov­ers in­doors and po­ten­tially an­other 50 out­doors and is open daily through­out the year.

Oriel Môn se­nior man­ager Es­ther Roberts said: “We’re look­ing for suitable ap­pli­cants from cater­ers ex­pe­ri­enced in pro­vid­ing high qual­ity, freshly pre­pared dishes us­ing lo­cal foods and recipes. The caterer would also pro­vide re­fresh­ments for those who use Oriel Môn as a venue for busi­ness meet­ings, func­tions and con­fer­ences. The con­tract will run for two years with an op­tion to ex­tend for an­other two.”

All par­ties are in­vited to ten­der for the new con­tract – with ap­pli­ca­tions in­vited by 14 Jan­uary 2019.

Gwe­nan Row­lands, of Blas Mwy, is the cur­rent ser­vice provider un­til the cur­rent cater­ing con­tract fin­ishes on 31 March 2019.

Gwe­nan and her team have been wel­com­ing vis­i­tors with freshly pre­pared food for a num­ber of years hav­ing suc­cess­fully bid for the con­tract in 2006 and 2012.

There will likely be TUPE im­pli­ca­tions for the suc­cess­ful ap­pli­cant.
