Bracegirdle stars for Arfon with memorable win over leaders Primos
ARFON LADIES inflicted a first defeat of the season on leaders Penygroes Primos in Division One of the Gwynedd & Anglesey Winter Netball League last week.
Leading throughout the encounter, Arfon eventually finished up 22-15 winners.
Player of the match for the victorious side was Cadii Bracegirdle, while Manon Thomas was voted best for Primos.
Dyffryn Penygroes Ladies remain unbeaten and boast maximum points from five games after edging a tight encounter against Tim o Walis 17-15.
Walis led 4-3 after the first quarter, but by half-time Dyffryn were 12-8 ahead. Trailing 14-10 entering the last, Walis won the curtaincloser 5-3, but it was not enough.

Dolgellau Ladies lost the first quarter to Moniars 6-3, but recovered to win the match 30-23.

Menai Mavericks pipped Arfon Celts 27-25 in another tight affair. Mavericks were 14-10 in front at the midway stage, but Celts took the last two quarters 8-7 and 7-6, only to end up narrowly beaten.

Porthmadog still hold top spot in Division Two following a comfortable 31-17 triumph over Walibees.

Llangefni and Pwllheli Wildcats shared a thrilling 23-23 draw. Wildcats were 7-2 up after the first, 14-8 at half-time and 20-13 entering the final session. However, Cefni achieved a magnificent fightback, taking the closer 10-3 to earn the draw.

Dreigiau Brynrefs Arfon stayed in touch with the leaders after seeing off Pwllheli Subway Warriors 29-23. Warriors were in the ascendancy 5-4 after the opener and 13-12 at half-time.
The second half saw Brynrefs take over, winning the third 7-5 and the last, crucially, 10-5.
