Seven up for Ryan in huge Caergybi win

-

JAMES RYAN netted a stunning seven times as Caergybi romped to a 12-1 victory at Llandegfan in the Lucas Oil Anglesey Football League.

Ryan boosted his league and goals tally for the season to 41 as the visitors cut the gap on table-toppers Bryngwran Bulls to six points with two games in hand. It was the second time this term that Caergybi have won 12-1 at Llandegfan, the previous occasion being a Dargie Cup tie last August.

Dale Moffat’s men have hit double figures in a game four times in this campaign.

Saturday’s showing was a good team performance from the Holyhead outfit, well-disciplined with great football at times and also some cracking goals, one of Ryan’s efforts an overhead kick while Mike Owen scored with a fantastic diving header.

Dan Lowies added a double and there were singles for Dave Webb and Glenn North. Rob Boyce notched a consolation reply for Llandegfan.

Holyhead Hotspur Reserves registered a fine 5-1 win over Bodorgan in the league, Martin McClymont and Deian Parry both with pairs and Ben Williams also on the mark, Iwan Parry hitting back for the visitors.

Anglesey League leaders Bryngwran Bulls were also in deadly form in the Megan Cup, returning from Arriva Bangor as 6-1 victors.

Matty Roberts proved just why he is December’s Player of the Month for Richard Owen’s side as he bagged a hat-trick.

Jerome Sillence moved into double figures in the goals stakes with a brace, while Gwyndaf Owen was also on target.

A strangely out-of-sorts Arriva managed just the one net-finder via Jason Roberts.

Pentraeth Reserves also advanced with a narrow 2-1 home triumph against Llanfairpwll. Tom Jones and leading marksman Kenny Williams provided the goals for Pentraeth, Ryan Evans keeping the visitors in the contest. The tie between CPD Y Fali and Cefni was postponed.
