OVER 600 year 9 pupils visited the brand new Canolfan STEM for the annual CodiSTEM event.

The event, now in its fifth year, is aimed at raising awareness among young people of increasing training and career opportunities in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) arena.

CodiSTEM 2019 was held at the £13.6M state-of-theart engineering training facility at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Llangefni site, which was officially opened earlier in the day by the Rt Hon Mark Drakeford AM, First Minister of Wales.

Young people took part in interactive, hands on learning workshops and were given the chance to discuss potential job opportunities with STEM sector employers, as well as try out some of the excellent learning facilities offered at Canolfan STeM.
