Veg king Medwyn to go soil-less?
ANGLESEY vegetable supremo Medwyn Williams has revealed he may ditch soil altogether as he seeks to extend his golden run at next month’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The veteran grower already uses Canna’s AutoPot system, which uses gravityfed water to irrigate plant containers through a system of tubes and pipes.
Over the next few years he plans to switch to hydroponic cultivation using just water as his growing medium – thus showing that healthy food can be grown anywhere.
Having already won 11 Golds in Chelsea’s Grand Pavilion, Medwyn will be joined by his son Alwyn and grandson Owain on his return to the show.
