SCRIPTWRIT­ER Will Dempsey (Os­car Isaac) is an emo­tional wreck af­ter his wife (Olivia Wilde) leaves him. He sees a therapist, Dr Cait Morris (Annette Ben­ing), who he sub­se­quently wit­nesses being hit by a bus in New York. On board the bus is a boy called Ro­drigo (Adrian Mar­rero). Time re­verses to de­tail the past of the lad’s par­ents – Javier (Ser­gio Peris-Mencheta) and Is­abel (Laia Costa) – who set­tle in a house be­long­ing to land owner Vin­cent (Antonio Ban­deras). Vin­cent se­cretly lav­ishes the boy with gifts and the mother with at­ten­tion.
