Fall woman air­lifted to hos­pi­tal

A woman was air­lifted to hos­pi­tal af­ter fall­ing and in­jur­ing her leg.

She had been out walk­ing in Llanelian near Point Ly­nas when she tripped at around 4.40pm on Satur­day. Holy­head Coast­guard was alerted and sent Moel­fre Lifeboat and the coast­guard he­li­copter due to the sever­ity of the cut which was bleeding heav­ily. She was flown to Ys­byty Gwynedd for treatment.

Just af­ter 3pm, Holy­head Coast­guard had been called af­ter a climber fell down a cliff on Holy­head Range near South Stack. Treard­dur Bay lifeboat crew and coast­guard res­cue teams from Pen­maes and Holy­head at­tended. They used ropes to lift the man up the cliff amid fears he had a spinal in­jury and he was taken to hos­pi­tal.
