Gŵyl Cefni is celebrating its 19th year

-

TO celebrate the 19th year of Gŵyl Cefni, the organisers of this popular Welsh festival in Llangefni, have put together a sensational line-up for the afternoon and evening of Saturday, June 8.

Together with bands such as Maffia Mr Huws, Blodau Papur and Fleur de Lys, as well as Aelwyd yr Ynys, there are other well-loved favourites such as Mojo and Meinir Gwilym.

There’s also a breadth of young local talent, such as Band Samba a Makaton Canolfan Addysg y Bont, Aerobig, Jac Elis Roberts a Howling Black. Thanks to a grant from Cronfa’r Degwm, Anglesey County Council and Menter Iaith Môn, as well as the dedication of local volunteers, the 19th Party Gig, located at the Bull Hotel car park, will be free entry.

There’ll even be a timely break for performers, giving festival goers a chance to show some noisy #RedWall support for the Wales football team playing in Croatia.

On Saturday morning, there is a Free Family Fun morning with popular children’s characters.

The free tickets are quickly snapped up so it’s worth going to Cwpwrdd Cornel shop in Llangefni (01248 750218) to get advance tickets (in the form of wristbands).

The launch, on Friday, June 7, will include a performance by Gwenno Saunders, a talk discussing the work of artist Edrica Huws and also the launch of a special proposal for women to exhibit art and music at Oriel Môn.
