Llangefni Town strengthen –

-

LLANGEFNI Town are already strengthening their squad ahead of their first season back at FAW Tier Two Northern Championship level.

The Welsh Alliance Division One champions confirmed the arrival of talented forward Jamie Roberts from Holyhead Hotspur, with Cefni also securing the services of goalkeeper Tyler French.

Roberts’ presence within the squad will be another massive boost thanks to his experience at second tier level, with the player also enjoying a spell at Gwynedd League side Glantraeth.

He has also enjoyed good spells with Caernarfon Town and Conwy Borough during a standout young career to date.

French also comes with a reputation as one of the best shot-stoppers anywhere in the region, with the 22-year-old coming with a wealth of experience despite his relatively young age at the likes of Bala Town, Porthmadog and Penrhyndeudraeth.

This is the latest in a series of exciting developments at the newly-promoted side, with a large number of the current squad agreeing to stay for the upcoming campaign.

Vice-captain Andy Sinclair and Player of the Year Jack Williams became the latest to re-affirm their commitment to Chris Roberts’ side, with experienced defender Steve Kehoe and Craig Roberts also set to be part of the set-up next term.

Manager Roberts confirmed he was staying on.

“I am delighted with how the season went,” he said. “We set out with the aim of winning the league title and getting promoted and we achieved that.

“Cup success was a bonus, winning the Cookson, Mawddach Cup Finalists, last 16 Welsh Cup and last 8 in the Trophy, I couldn’t ask for anything more from the players. I am delighted that I have committed my future to Llangefni, it’s my hometown club.

“My mind is now on next season and the championship.”
