ANGLESEY SOROPTIMIS­TS: Members of SI Anglesey Club had a busy month with Claire Bailey from Ynys Môn MIND reminding the club of Mental Health Week, Sian Kent from Bangor SI bringing along ‘Polly la Mere’ a fish made of recycled plastic and filled with Single Use and other non-recycled plastics. A beach clean has been arranged for Sat, June 15 by the Sea Zoo, 2pm if anyone would like to join in. President Averil will walk the Anglesey coastal path which runs for over 140 miles, starting 10.30 Monday, June 10 at Moel y Don and finish on Sat June 22 at Moel y Don (Byn Celli Ddu). Averil hopes to highlight Soroptimis­ts charity work and raise funds for Ynys Môn MIND and to check toilet facilities on the island, which are fast disappeari­ng due to cutbacks by the Council. Albert Owen MP confirmed, after correspond­ence with him, that all girls in primary and secondary schools will now receive access to free sanitary products. AM Rhys Ap Iorwerth also confirmed these products will be free in hospitals. The Soroptimis­ts have once again supported the Girl Guides and presented them with a cheque for £100 at their AGM.
