BANGOR CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALI­ST CHURCH: Establishe­d in 1947 and affiliated to the Greater World Spiritual Centre, London. WIDOWERS AND WIDOWS: Social group covering Anglesey, Bangor, Caernarfon and Llyn, set up for widowed people to enjoy life again in the company of other widowed people who understand. BLOOD CANCER: If you or any of your family of friends are affected by lymphoma, myeloma, leukaemia or any other blood cancer, there is now a support group that meets on the first Thursday of alternate months in Bangor from 7pm-8.30pm at St Davids outpatient­s department, Ysbyty Gwynedd. DYSLEXIA AWARENESS: The Miles Dyslexia Centre will host a programme of events over August 20-22. These will be a series of lectures and practical workshops, suitable for educators and parents, from 10am-4pm, covering such topics as: Recognisin­g and Identifyin­g Dyslexia; Multisenso­ry Teaching Approaches; The Social and Emotional Effects of Dyslexia; Dyscalculi­a and Maths; Teaching Reading and Spelling. This series of lectures/ workshops will provide an excellent opportunit­y to learn more about Dyslexia / Dyscalculi­a alongside the MDC team who will be available to offer expert advice and guidance. Each day costs £85, book all three for the discounted rate of £200 (tea and coffee provided!). Places are limited so book early to avoid disappoint­ment.
