HAND­SOME but emo­tion­ally starved drama, based on the novel by Rhid­ian Brook. Rachael Mor­gan (Keira Knight­ley) ar­rives in 1945 Ham­burg af­ter the Al­lied vic­tory, to join her hus­band Lewis (Ja­son Clarke), a Bri­tish colonel. Lewis req­ui­si­tions the man­sion of wi­d­owed ar­chi­tect Ste­fan Lu­bert (Alexan­der Skars­gard) and con­signs the host and his daugh­ter to the at­tic while the Mor­gans make use of the house, but sex­ual ten­sion sim­mers be­tween Rachael and Ste­fan.
