Thought for the week

-

THE Amazing Story of …You! Yes, you, reading this copy of the Mail. I received a photograph recently, sent to me by my daughter. It showed her baby in the womb at around 13 weeks of her pregnancy.

How amazing to see this tiny scrap of life lying comfortably and secure there inside the mother.

It reminded me of what Bible says about babies. the

In Psalm 139 King David puts it this way: “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit them together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship is marvellous – and how well I know it. You were there while I was being formed in utter seclusion! You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day recorded in your book!”

Rather more than 50 years ago my mother knitted me a college scarf, which was a real labour of love, particularly as it had stripes along the whole length of it. I still have the scarf now.

But when God knits together a baby He pours infinitely more love into His masterpiece than we can imagine.

Each detail is perfectly formed, was precisely be.

He also knows our end from our beginning, and everything that will happen to us in between. Wouldn’t it be great if we could have a conversation with this God who knows all about us! Well, we can.

So why not talk to Him tonight and begin a conversation with the one who created you?
