MasterChef winner Simon Wood shows MARION McMULLEN how to give a flavour punch to meals
MASTERCHEF champ Simon Wood has turned to cheese to give a new twist to some favourite food classics. The former data manager impressed judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode so much with his cooking that they declared him the winner of the BBC contest in 2015 with Gregg declaring: “Simon is brilliant. He’s an incredible talent.”
The Manchester-born food lover has gone on to make his mark as a TV chef and restaurateur and has now teamed up with the Snowdonia Cheese Company to create a range of new recipes.
He says: “Cheese is such a versatile, popular ingredient and the Snowdonia Cheese Company creates amazing premium cheeses packed with bite and flavour. I’ve absolutely loved the challenge of creating dishes that show what these cheeses can do.”
Simon’s fish and chips recipe updates the British favourite while his sausage rolls recipe makes the perfect sharing snack.
