Driver jailed for flouting ban
A MOTORIST stopped on the A55 last week was found to have been disqualified from driving.
It was the fourth time Adam Paul Philip Anslow had been found behind the wheel of a vehicle since a 12-month ban was imposed by magistrates at Wrexham last April.
The 34-year-old, of Llys Delyn, Holywell, appeared from custody at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court and was jailed for a total of 36 weeks.
District Judge Jones said: “You massive gamble wasn’t worth it.”
The judge said he had given the sentence a great deal of thought and took everything into account.
“You drove after the disqualification was imposed and you drove some distance. These offences are aggravated by your previous convictions,” he said.
The judge ordered Anslow be banned from driving for a further 30 months and pay a £122 victim surcharge.
Anslow admitted driving whilst disqualified after being stopped driving a white Renault van on the A55 at Conwy Morfa on August 17. He also admitted having no valid insurance for the vehicle nor an MOT certificate.
He admitted driving a black Mitsubishi truck on the A55 at Talybont near Bangor last week while disqualified and having no valid insurance.
Diane Williams, prosecuting, said since Anslow had been banned in April he had appeared before magistrates twice on charges of disqualified driving.
